Nominate your Green Hero for a PEA or PEAB Award!

On 23 September, the world’s leaders descended on New York City for the UN Climate Summit. Leonardo diCaprio told leaders ‘you can make change or you will be vilified’, and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said leaders are ‘not here to talk but to make history.’
While political leaders squabble over climate change issues ahead of the Paris 2015 conference, the search is on for leaders closer to home. We’re putting the spotlight on the UK, with an awards ceremony to celebrate those who are helping to change the course of history.
Now in its fourth year, The People, Environment and Achievement (PEA) now combines with The PEA Business Awards to create one spectacular event!
These awards will bring together individuals and groups who have realised that ‘business as usual’ won’t work, who are instead pursuing innovative ways to make the small changes that together could change the world.
This years glamorous green carpet event will be held at a secret location on London’s Southbank on Thursday 27th November. Winners from award categories will be announced, all of whom are walking the talk and championing successful approaches to sustainability in their respective fields - from technology and travel to community and campaign work.
The PEAs and PEAB Awards will honour the world’s pioneering eco-warriors, heroes and champions, in both businesses and communities. If you or someone you know is doing inspirational work in sustainability, now’s the time to nominate your green hero.
The theme for this year’s awards ceremony is ‘Unity’, and the event will demonstrate how big business and consumers can unite for positive change.
Unlike any other sustainability awards, the PEAs celebrate individuals and teams, rather than products and brands. They recognise the power of individuals when it comes to shifting paradigms, and send a clear message that positive change is in our own hands.
The winners are living testament to the fact that individuals and groups can inspire real change where other leaders have failed. The fee for nominations starts at £25, and all entrants will receive a ticket to this prestigious event. If you know someone worthy of winning an award, or would like to nominate yourself, you now have a little more time to enter a nomination.
Applications close at midnight on 31st October 2014. To nominate in The PEA Awards go to: www.peaawards.com.
