Would you like to learn more about Ecocide and how to end it? End Ecocide on Earth warmly invite you to join us for the End Ecocide on Earth Conference on 13-14 October in Brussels. The event is free and open for everyone.
We have come a long way since the launch of the European Citizens’ Initiative - End Ecocide in Europe. We have made first steps, grew through puberty and have now reached a milestones where we need to extend the boundaries of our initial target. End Ecocide goes global and End Ecocide on Earth is born - as the whole world is affected by ecocide.
On Monday, October 13th, a number of well-known speakers and experts will discuss ecocide. Some topics include the history of ecocide, what it means and topics that really matter - the relationship between ecocide and indigenous rights, environmental security, justice, climate change and others.
The conference also provides an opportunity to learn more about the latest developments in the legal area – the Charter of Brussels and amending the Rome Statute. Needless to say, it will also be a unique opportunity to meet like-minded people from across Europe and share inspiring conversations!
On Tuesday, October 14th, we invite you to join the open workshop A European Citizen’s Initiative (ECI) for the Next Generation, where you have the opportunity to discuss with policy makers and ECI organisers what it means to organise such a campaign. This event is co-hosted with the ECI Campaign.
During the workshop we will explore the challenges that citizens' initiatives face, and develop proposals of making it better – to benefit many more initiatives in future years. A special focus will be laid on the involvement of young people.
The full programme of events over the two days can be found online.
Please register at firstname.lastname@example.org by September 18th. No registration fee. Please indicate whether you are planning to attend only the conference on October 13th, the workshop on October 14th or both events. Please indicate your name, age, and organisation.
